Ekweremadu was assaulted on Saturday in Nuremberg, Germany by alleged members of the indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB.

Obi, in a statement from his spokesman, Val obienyem, said he has not spoken about the incident due to his characteristic calm but has made calls both inside and outside the country.

Obienyem dismissed as false the statement allegedly credited to its director about the incident.

According to the statement, “the attention of the PDP vice presidential candidate, Peter Obi, was drawn to a statement about the incident in Germany, allegedly made by him.

“Mr. Peter Obi was not in Lagos nor did he attend any meeting of the PDP in Lagos on Sunday, August 18, where he allegedly made the statement.

“We wish to record that Mr. Peter Obi has not made any public statement on the matter. In his characteristic calm, he has made calls both inside and outside the country. I assure you that in the end, he is what is best for the Igbos and the nation. ”
