Two arrested in Ijebu-Ode for killing okada rider

The Ogun State Police Command arrested two suspects, Lecan Odosot, 27, and Monday, John 22, for the murder of an unidentified Okada passenger before his motorcycle was hijacked, according to reports DAILY POST.

The two suspects, both citizens of Ijebu Ode, were reportedly dragged by the cyclist to the Ekangba district of Uppalinde in Ijebu Ode, where they were allegedly killed and taken to an unfinished building and buried in a shallow graveyard.

According to a statement by the public relations officer of the Ogun state police, Abimbula Oyemi, “They did it with an Okada man, took his motorcycle to Ijebu-Igbo, where they sold it for 120,000 nuns.”

“However, luck faced them when they were about to share the money because they couldn’t agree on a certain participation formula,” he said.

Ouyemi said the dispute had caused a serious discussion between them and some of their comments, which generated suspicions about the people who reported to the police.

“According to the information, DPO, the Obalende division, CSP Sunday Omonijo, quickly sent their interrogators to stop the arrest of the suspects.

“In the interrogation, they confessed to having attracted an Okada man in an isolated area where he was killed and seized a motorcycle they sold, and the way in which income exchanges caused differences.

He said: “The suspects took the police to the unfinished building where the victim was buried, and the body was recovered and taken to the morgue for examination after death.”

Meanwhile, the police commissioner, CP Bashir Mkama, who met, ordered that the suspects be immediately transferred to the murder department of the Government’s Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and prosecution.
