Troops kill 10 bandits in Kaduna forest

The troops of the 1 Division, the Nigerian Army, deployed in the local government area of ​​Birnin Gwari of Kaduna state in Operation CLEAN SWEEP, have confirmed the death of 10 bandits during a clearing operation in the Kuduru forest.

The Nigeria News Agency (NAN) reports that the General Officer in charge of the 1 Division, Nigerian Army, Division General. Faruk Yahaya told reporters in Kaduna on Friday that troops inflicted heavy casualties on the bandits, killing 10 of them; while others escaped with gunshot wounds.

Yahaya said the bandit camp was also destroyed, but that five soldiers were injured during the operation.

According to NAN, he said the wounded soldiers were evacuated to the 44 Reference Hospital, Kaduna, to save their lives, but unfortunately, two of them paid the supreme price.

During a visit to the hospital, Chinese authorities sympathized with the wounded soldiers and also praised the gallantry of the dead soldiers.

He said his sacrifices would not be in vain. Yahaya said his bravery and dedication to duty was exemplary of which all Nigerian and Nigerian soldiers should be proud.

He promised that the soldiers would receive appropriate burials after informing their families of the tragic loss.
