Troops get rid of infamous bandits in Benue, Taraba

The Defence Headquarters has mentioned that the troops of Operation Whirl Stroke, have eradicated two infamous bandits who have been attacking communities in Benue and Taraba States.

The Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. John Enenche, in a commentary on Saturday, mentioned the operation used to be finished on Friday.

Enenche defined that the operation used to be sequel to actionable intelligence at the infiltration of armed herdsmen at Chambe group in Brand Native Govt House of Benue State the place two villagers had been killed.

He mentioned the troops unexpectedly deployed to the scene, including that the bandits had fled the world ahead of their arrival.

In line with him, troops tracked the assailants to a makeshift camp on the outskirts of Arufu in neighbouring Taraba.

He mentioned: “On sighting the troops, the armed bandits opened fireplace, troops beaten the criminals with high-intensity fireplace, killing two of them whilst others fled in disarray with gunshots wounds.
