Saraki reacts as EFCC seizes houses in Ikoyi

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has thrashed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the seizure of a portion of his private houses in Ikoyi, Lagos.

They include 15a, 15b and 17 on MacDonald street.

The seizure pursued the declaration of a new test against him by the counter unite commission.

EFCC had clarified that it was examining Saraki’s profit as legislative head of Kwara State somewhere in the range of 2003 and 2011.

An announcement issued on Sunday by Yusuph Olaniyonu, Saraki’s exceptional counsel on media and exposure, read: “Our consideration has been attracted to the way that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has denoted specific property having a place with Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, clearly under the case that they are subject of examination.

“The activity of the EFCC just strengthened our before expressed position that their present examination is underhanded, as opposed to the precepts of the standard of law and just went for settling scores.

“This position is established on the way that these equivalent structures were the subject of prior examinations by the EFCC just as the case started by the Federal Government at the Code of Conduct Tribunal.

“Additionally, the case went right to the most astounding court in our nation, the Supreme Court of Nigeria. Saraki was released and vindicated because the courts trust the legislature has no case.”
