RCCG pastor, Ibelegbo Chidinma narrates how she escaped from ‘herdsmen’ kidnappers

Deaconess Ibelegbo Chidinma, one of the RCCG pastoralists who was kidnapped and rescued on Saturday, recounted her experience in the hands of kidnappers, claiming that her kidnappers were Fulani shepherds.

GISTOK had reported that the Ogun State Police Command rescued all the victims kidnapped by the alleged Fulani pastors on Saturday.

However, testifying at the church conference on Saturday night, Ms. Ibelegbo said that while traveling to the RCCG camp her vehicle ran into some Fulani shepherds on the Lagos-Ibadan highway, who took them to the forest.

She said that after praying for God to make her kidnappers fall asleep, God answered her prayers, and she slipped away from the bush.

“I prayed to God to fall asleep, and they fell asleep and continued sleeping until I began to leave the mountain. I was asking God for direction to the road.

“I finally reached a road and met a motorcyclist, and when I told my story, the cyclist took me to a police checkpoint. Ibelegbo added that his interview with the State Police Commissioner led to the rescue of the other four victims.
