Obaseki assigns portfolios to new commissioners, special advisers

Edo state governor Godwin Obaseki has assigned portfolios to his cabinet members. Obaseki announced at the weekly meeting of the State Executive Council.

The names and portfolios are as follows:

Marie Edko, Ministry of Social Development; Damian Lawani, Ministry of Youth; Joe Ikpea, Ministry of Minerals, Oil and Gas; and Momoh Oise Omorogbe, Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning.

Felix Akhabue, Ministry of Cooperatives and Wealth Creation; and Moses Agbakor, Ministry of Energy.

The five new advisors are Andrew Momodu, exclusive advisor, public order and security; Hon. Osaigbovo Iyoha, a former member of the Edo State Assembly Chamber, is now the Special Advisor to the Governor in Political Affairs, in South Edo.

Hon. Magdalene Ohenhen, the former Commissioner for Women’s Affairs, is Special Adviser on Political Affairs, Edo Central; former president of the Edo State Assembly Chamber, Rt. Hon. Kabiru Adjoto is the Special Adviser, Parliamentary Affairs; while Asien Eye, is now Special Advisor, Political Affairs, Edo North.

However, in a minor reorganization of the cabinet, the former Commissioner of Agricultural and Natural Resources, HE. On Monday, Osaigbovo was transferred to the Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs, while the former Commissioner of Education, HE. Emmanuel Agbale now heads the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Former Commissioner of Local Government and Community Affairs, HE. Jimoh Ijegbai now heads the Ministry of Education.
