Nigerian military speaks on fresh ISWAP attack, ‘killing’ of 10 soldiers

The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) described the report of the terrorist attack of the West African Province (ISWAP) of the Islamic State against its troops and the killing of 10 soldiers as false.

The MNJTF Military Public Information Chief, Colonel Timothy Antigha, said this in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja on Friday.

Antigha said the report was a desperate attempt by certain people to promote falsehood. He said the last confrontation between the MNJTF and ISWAP was July 29 when ISWAP lost ten terrorists, including four suicide bombers and teams.

Antigha added that it was surprising that false news circulated that reflected much more than the opposite. “Therefore, the general public is alerted, and it is advised that fake news providers do not fool you.

“ISWAP and its collaborators are down and have hemorrhages, hence the despair of declaring victory where no action was taken,” he said.
