Kidnap of 5 RCCG Pastors: Pastor Adeboye under fire for not ‘speaking the truth’

The Senior Pastor of Awaiting the Second Coming of the Gospel Church of Jesus Christ, Adewale Giwa, has expressed disappointment at Pastor Enoch Adeboye’s long silence about insecurity and other issues in Nigeria.

Giwa said that someone like Adeboye should have told the truth to those with authority before.

However, he urged Christians across the country to pray for the quick release of the five ministers of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), who were kidnapped on Thursday along the Ijebu-Ode axis.

Giwa said this in a signed statement and sent to GISTOK on Friday,

He said: “As a man of God who knows his calling, you must always tell the truth in any situation. The seer Jehu prophet, Hanani’s son, was able to confront King Jehoshaphat and said to the king:” Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord?

“God was not very happy that King Jehoshaphat of Judah aligned himself with King Ahab, the same one who married Jezebel and led Israel to worship. The biblical description of this event records that Jehu met the king. Jehoshaphat

“Jehu’s message to King Jehoshaphat included: Why did you help the wicked (King Ahab) and love those who hate the Lord? The result of your action, King Jehoshaphat, is that the wrath of God has come out against you.

However, King Jehoshaphat, there is something good in you; that is because you destroyed Asheroth’s posts and places of worship outside the earth and put your heart to seek God.

“I wonder why my father in the Lord, Pastor Adeboye, has kept the Nigerians in the dark for a long time. I understand that Vice President Pastor Yemi Osinbajo is your product, but that does not mean that the truth should not be told. My prayer goes to the kidnapped pastors wherever they are, may God’s mercy place them in the name of Jesus.

“I said it and will continue to say that the current government has failed in all ramifications. As things stand, we are in a tough situation in Nigeria, and only God’s mercy can save us. They are targeting Christians across the country now, and we should be able to speak. In this type of situation, silence kills and is not the best option. ”

Speaking about COZA, Pastor Giwa said the truth would be revealed soon, by urging Church members and leaders to remain in prayer and stand firm.

“I believe that God will never abandon his faithful people. This case has to be thoroughly investigated. Everyone has a past, but if you are in Christ, you will do the right thing.

“I was in the world before now. Now I am a new creature, a new being who is always willing to do the will of God and tell the truth always. I was once in love with hard drinks. I used to drink beer and types of drinks to the point that I was nicknamed “Oti.” The moment I gave my life to Jesus Christ totally, I left that behind.

I am a new creature, and old things are gone. I also dated some girls outside of my marriage. But, the truth is that if you are in Christ, you will always do the right thing.

“You cannot be a pastor and still allow the things of the world to attract your attention. Most pastors today are falling because they are being led by the flesh, not by the Holy Spirit. If the Holy Spirit is in you, this will continue to guide and protect you, “said Pastor Giwa.”
