The National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Chris Isizugo has asked the Federal Government to execute the immediate allotment of cash implied for neighborhood governments to the nearby committees.

Talking with DAILY POST not long after the interment of the previous Chairman of NUJ, Cross River State Council, Ndoma Akpet in Okoni in Ikom neighborhood government region of Cross River, the President lamented the demeanor of State Governors who clutch nearby government reserves.

He said “Let Federal Government execute it without limit, it will energize rivalry at that dimension of administration. It will empower improvement to such an extent that when we hold nearby government Chairmen for poor execution, they won’t allude us to State Governors which they generally blamed for messing with their funds.

“You can concur with me that the nearby government is the third level of government in this nation as given in our constitution and throughout the years, governors have been messing with the funds of the neighborhood government, and that has stunt advancement at that dimension of administration.

“Since Federal Government is acting carefully by profiting of the third level of government goes to them straightforwardly, that is a positive development, we commend national government.

On the N30,000 the lowest pay permitted by law, the NUJ National President stated, “The Nigeria Labor Congress (NLC) where we are a partner has taken a position, we will ensure that the State Governors execute it.
