John Odigie-Oyegun: An old warhorse drawn into new battle

The crisp approaching emergency inside the pecking order of the decision All Progressives Congress (APC), which on Monday snowballed into mudslinging between its National Chairman, Comrade Adam Oshiomhole and his ancestor, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, has been very captivating and engaging.

Those in the resistance Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) specifically more likely than not had enough portion of chuckling watching the trading of brickbats. It is their commonplace territory. It is a street they have ignored and once more. In this way, they definitely know precisely where and when the downpour began to beat the two screenwriter personae. Be that as it may, they can just watch and laugh as situations develop.

Similarly as the PDP experienced after its devastating thrashing in the 2015 general decisions, someone in the APC should likewise assume liability for the loss of seven states in this last race. What’s more, it isn’t amazing that the stewing emergency took a dumbfounding measurement following the profession of the Supreme Court invalidating all decisions won by the gathering’s applicants in Zamfara State, bringing to seven the complete number of states lost to the PDP.

This time, the trigger was a six-page letter composed by the Deputy National Chairman (North) of the gathering, Lawan Shuiabu, asking Oshiomhole to leave and permit the APC initiate a modifying procedure that can continue the life of the gathering past the residency of the present organization. He had, in addition to other things, blamed the national administrator for annihilating gathering union, which, as indicated by him, represented the loss of seven states to the resistance at the simply closed general decisions.

Be that as it may, in a quick response, a few defenders of the National Chairman from his command post rejected the case and blamed Oyegun for laying a ‘booby trap’ for Oshiomhole. Evidently drawn into the debate, Oyegun, in an announcement by his Media Adviser, Ray Morphy, portrayed the charge as over the top and puerile, encouraging Oshiomhole to acknowledge his absence of demeanor and ability to deal with the various interests and propensities that comprise the gathering.

His words: “The Oshiomole-drove official is about a year in office, for what reason does he think that its difficult to work without searching for reasons and substitutes? “It is a typical information that Oshiomhole ran the most false primaries in the historical backdrop of legislative issues in Nigeria. Review that INEC said so when it decreed Oshiomhole’s primaries as the most noticeably terrible up until now. The courts are stating something very similar today by upturning numerous APC primaries for being undemocratic and not exactly reasonable. Is it accurate to say that it was Oyegun who ran the primaries?

“Oyegun drove the gathering to reverberating triumph. Oshiomhole ought not devastate what others had toiled to manufacture. On the off chance that he needs instructional exercise on the best way to run a gathering, he ought to request it commonly. John Oyegun will gladly help; all things considered, no man might want to see his child disperse what he had toiled to construct.”

All these are simply negligible indications of the emergency of certainty that would decide the future survival of the gathering. As it’s been said, history instructs, however it has no student. In spite of the fact that the situation might be unique, it is clear that the powers behind the encourage ouster of the previous national executive and those against Oshiomhole are one and the equivalent.

The furious tempest is a reckoning of the malevolent primaries, which many gathering supporters accept was in charge of the poor excursion of the APC in certain states. As the individuals who control the switch of intensity are truly up in arm against the present authority, it would, in this way, be a lot simpler for the famous camel to go through the opening of the needle than Oshiomhole getting away from the huge mallet. They are the governors of the APC in their separate states. All through power, they use gigantic power and impact, and they would dependably go to any length to complete their desire.

Maybe, Oshiomhole would have changed the direction, yet for his over the top language which in a manner estranged many gathering individuals. Presently, incredible cast. The truth of the tranquility of the memorial park that pursued the unremarkable presentation of the gathering in the lost states is currently down on everyone. Under the current NWC, the gathering has botched another chance to mix the different inclinations that framed the gathering in the development to the last broad decision. Also, it would remain so for quite a while to come except if there is a typical purpose among the partners to fashion an assembled front against the rising fortune of the PDP.

The assignment even ends up harder now with the developing 2023 power game. The signs are inauspicious. Boss John Oyegun was chosen as regular citizen legislative head of Edo State on the stage of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) during the progress to vote based system propelled by General Ibrahim Babangida and served from January 1992 to November 1993. He was expelled from office after General Sani Abacha caught control. Afterward, he turned into a pioneer of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP).

On June 13, 2014, Odigie-Oyegun was chosen as national administrator of the APC. Bola Tinubu of Lagos State, the APC national pioneer, is accepted to have assumed a significant job in his development. The decision of Oyegun, from the for the most part Christian South of the nation, is determined to win both Christian and Muslim voters as a procedure to crush the officeholder President Goodluck Jonathan of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). He was constrained out of office by the connivance of certain governors, who blamed him for the powerlessness to keep up gathering discipline.

“Our place has nothing to do with the Anambra election. All we’d like is our chief’s launch who dedicated no crime to be held perpetually in custody. We now have gathered by intelligence the plot by Nigeria Authorities to maintain our chief in detention perpetually by frivolous court docket adjournments.

“Politicians should depart IPOB out of their predicaments. They need to cease dragging IPOB into their election. We knew their evil plans after they had been killing their fellow politicians and blaming it on IPOB. They need to depart us alone.
