Insecurity: NUJ sends strong message to Buhari

The national President of the Nigeria Journalists’ Union, NUJ, Christopher Isiguzo, has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to review his security strategy immediately.

Isiguzo, who noted that the strategy adopted by the President to address insecurity in the country was not working, insisted that it was time for the President to review it for effective and efficient results.

Speaking in Abuja, after some young people from the north under the auspices of the Northern Youth Council met with him, Isiguzo said: “I want to ask the President to take advantage of the occasion and address this disturbing level of insecurity in Nigeria.

“We cannot continue with a strategy; we have tried this strategy again and again. You cannot proceed with a plan and expect a different result. You will not receive a different result.

“This is the time for you to try a different strategy. Change the safety strategy so that people can start sleeping once again with both eyes closed. That is an appeal we are making.

“I want to ask the government to change the security strategy given a large number of complaints across Nigeria, with the high rate of insecurity in the system.

“I appeal to the President that” you are not only the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, but you are also the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces. ”

He also devastated those who called for a revolution against the government or the breakup of the country, saying that those approaches were not in order.
