INEC Decide Today Whether To Give Okorocha, Others Certificates Of Return

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it will meet today, concerning decisions and requests issued or served on it from different Courts of Law on the issuance of Certificates of Return.

Mr. Festus Okoye, INEC National Commissioner, and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, uncovered this in a meeting with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.

Okoye expressed this while responding to an inquiry on the commission’s choice on a court request, guiding it to issue Certificates of Return to a congressperson and five House of Representatives individuals under the stage of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Bauchi State. He said the commission was yet to take any choice seeing the judgment as to its national officials directing state-level survey on the 2019 general races just came back to Abuja.

“The commission will meet tomorrow (Tuesday) concerning decisions and requests served on it from different official courtrooms. The Commission has not taken any choice identifying with the issue you implied. The commission may manage every single such aspect and other pending ones tomorrow.

“National chiefs overseeing State Level Review of the 2019 Elections came back to Abuja on Monday to clear all pending decisions and requests before making a beeline for their conditions of supervision,” Okoye said.

An FCT High Court on May 16 had arranged INEC to issue endorsements of coming back to one congressperson, and five House of Representatives individuals chose under the stage the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State, who came next in the influenced decisions.
