Imo Workers To Get Full Pay From August

Governor Emeka Ihedioha, of the state of Imo, ordered that state officials should begin to receive their full salaries starting this month.

The directive is contained in a statement issued yesterday by his Special Assistant (Investigation), Mr. Ogubundu Nwadike.

The former immediate governor, Rochas Okorocha, had cut wages in 2017 based on the decision on the decrease in the monthly allocation of the Federal Government.

But when he took office on May 29, Ihedioha ordered full payment of wages but had not yet been implemented, which raised doubts.

The statement labeled “Treasury Circular” cited an earlier circular signed by the general accountant, Donald Igbo, clarifying the governor’s directive.
