How Zamfara committee on security rescued 250 kidnapped victims

A security committee set up by the Zamfara state government to investigate the criminal involvement of highly located people, especially traditional leaders, has revealed that more than 250 kidnapped victims have been rescued from armed bandit camps and notorious kidnappers in the state.

Addressing journalists in the chamber of the Government House in Gusau, the state capital, chairman of the Committee, former Police Inspector General, Mr. Mohammed Dahiru, said the Committee had rescued more than two hundred and fifty people kidnapped by bandits and notorious kidnappers in the state.

Answering questions from journalists in Gusau, the former police chief said the security situation in the state was becoming perfect after the peace and reconciliation process initiated by the state government.

He called on the people of the state to embrace peace as the only option for peaceful coexistence in the country, which he says can open doors for more productive opportunities in the country.

As to whether the state government would still absorb the repentant bandits in the thousands of repentant bandits whom the governor promised to employ in the civil service of the state, the president said that only the state government would decide on the issue and not the Committee.
