Fr Offu’s murder: Police hints about individuals on track list

The police commissioner in Enugu state, Mr. Sulaiman Balarabe, said Sunday that police have been tracking down some people suspected of being the murderers of a Catholic priest, the Reverend Father. Paul Offu.

Balarabe made the revelation on Sunday in an interview with the Nigerian News Agency (NAN) in Enugu, while talking about the efforts of the command to arrest the suspects.

Offu, who was the priest of St. James Greater Parish Parish, Ugbawka in the Nkanu Eastern Local Government Area (LGA) of the state, was killed Thursday night by gunmen still to be identified.

He was reportedly shot dead on the The-Agbudu highway in Awgu LGA. The police chief said: “We are still tracking some people believed to be related to the crime.

“However, we will soon arrest some suspects.” He appealed to state residents to help security agencies with useful information that could help stop thugs.
