El-Zakzaky’s daughter talks tough, counters IMN’s spokesman on suspension of protests [VIDEO]

Daughter of Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, IMN, Suhaila Zakzaky, has reacted to the suspension of the group from the usual street protests calling for the release of her father.

Suhaila said the protest would continue until his father was released. He said this in response to a directive from the President of the IMN Media Forum, Ibrahim Musa, suspending street protests calling for the release of El-Zakzaky.

In a video he released yesterday, El-Zakzaky’s daughter said that Musa could not speak on behalf of the group, and stressed that her comments are not the official opinion of IMN.

She said: “Even as I speak at this time, early today, there was a protest in Abuja and there will be tomorrow.

“And it will continue to be every day of the week. I just wanted to clarify because I saw news agencies that declared that the spokesman for this movement issued the statement.

“First, the Islamic movement does not have a spokesperson. And the person who wrote this article (is) the President of the media forum; The media forum, like the many forums we have in the Islamic movement, is just a forum that is there for people within that field to have their own space and activities within the Islamic movement.

“This person (Musa) has nothing to do with the people organizing this protest that has been going on in Abuja and will continue until El-Zakzaky is released.”
