EFCC Arrest Ministry of Health Officials for Blackmail of Yellow Fever Cards

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Benin Zonal Office, has captured four authorities of Port Health Service of the Federal Ministry of Health, Benin City, the Edo State capital over e-yellow fever travel card racketeering.

They were captured in a sting activity, continuation of a request in which the candidate affirmed that her matured mother who was to head out to Europe, visited the Benin Office of Port Health Service to get the e-yellow fever travel card, yet rather than lead her through the best possible strategy, she was persuaded to pay N10,000 to acquire the card immediately.

Be that as it may, inconvenience started at the season of getting onto her trip at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, when it was found that her e-yellow card did not have the Remita Retrieval Receipt Reference Identity.

An announcement by EFCC representative, Tony Orilade, said she was in this manner constrained to get an appropriate one at the air terminal with the entirety of N2000.

In light of the appeal, the Benin Zonal Office of the EFCC sent two agents to Port Health Service office in Benin, who professed to have mentioned for e-yellow fever card.

On installment of the sum, the EFCC agents were issued with the cards in a split second. The e-yellow fever travel card is formally N2000.

The illegal exchange made EFCC agents swoop on Port Health Service office on Tuesday morning capturing four of its authority.

The captured authorities will be charged in court when examinations are finished.
