BREAKING: NIPR preaches national unity

Malam Mukhtar Sirajo, National President, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), on Friday, emphasized the need for Nigerians to embrace principles and virtues which foster national unity.

were enormous and could not be over-emphasized. “One of the core mandates of Public Relations is relationship building where it doesn’t exist and mending it where it cracks.

‘‘NIPR is not comfortable with the level of relationship cracking in Nigeria. “And we are doing the best that we can to ensure that, as relationship menders, NIPR remains on top of the game to connect Nigerians.

“We appeal to Nigerians to retrace their steps and return to those good old days, where we considered everyone as one without recourse to asking questions to religion or tribe,” Siraj said.

He maintained that the recent trend of events indicate that there was a need to expedite action towards achieving sustainable national unity.

Sirajo noted that plans were underway to convene a Reputation Summit that would provide an avenue for Nigerians to reflect on the issue of sustaining national unity.

He reiterated the resolve of the institute to stamp out quackery in the public relations (PR) practice, adding that the institute would not hesitate to prosecute fake PR practitioners. Responding,
