Atiku vs Buhari: Heavy security ahead of Wednesday’s tribunal sitting

In front of the Wednesday sitting of the Presidential Election Tribunal hearing the instance of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar against President Muhammadu Buhari at the Court of Appeal, the FCT Police Command has declared watertight security.

An announcement on Tuesday sent to GISTOK by DSP Anjuguri Manzah, Police Public Relations Officer, said there would be the preoccupation of traffic at Goodluck Ebele way and Shehu Shagari Way.

While saying ‘sorry’ for the burdens the plan may cause, the Command clarified that it was a piece of proactive measure to augment security at the scene and hinder any demonstration that could disturb the Tribunal sitting and result in the breakdown of peace; particularly conflict between supporters of the two gatherings.

“In perspective on this advancement, individuals from the open are encouraged to utilize elective courses to their goals on Wednesday.

“The Command repeat its duty to the insurance of lives and property in the Federal Capital Territory,” it said.
