Alleged Rape: Pastor Obafemi Banigbe resigns as COZA board of trustees member

Board member of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Pastor Obafemi Banigbe has resigned.

This comes a few weeks after Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo resigned as Senior Pastor of the Assembly of the Commonwealth of Zion (COZA) for allegations of rape brought against him by Busola Dakolo.

Pastor Banigbe revealed his resignation in a letter addressed to Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo and the board of directors dated July 19.

Obafemi Banigbe said he was no longer interested in being a member of the COZA Board of Trustees, so he resigned.

On why he resigned, Banigbe wrote: “I leave my resignation as a registered member of the board of trustees of the Commonwealth Assembly of Zion, COZA, effective immediately and for personal reasons.

“I have not been able to function as a member of the board, including participation in any decision-making or governance meetings focused on issues related to the welfare of the church.”

Meanwhile, the Dakolos who allegedly threatened their lives have promised to see the fight for justice until the end.
