ALGON lashes out against new governor for acting hastily illegally

The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Oyo State Chapter, has responded to the disintegration of the neighborhood government executives and specialists by recently sworn in representative, Seyi Makinde.

GISTOK reviews that the neighborhood government directors, who are for the most part individuals from All Progressives Congress (APC), were chosen amid the decision led by the state Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) in May 2018.

Makinde had on Wednesday through his Chief of Staff, Chief Bisi Ilaka, declared that he had broken down all neighborhood government administrators in the state with immediate impact.

The Governor, in an announcement, made accessible to GISTOK, asked the Council administrators to handover to the head of neighborhood government organization or the most ranking executives in their nearby government regions and gatherings. He likewise declared that all Boards of parastatals and partnerships be broken down.

Makinde inferred that ban had been put on all Local and State Government accounts until further orders. ALGON, while responding, portrayed the declaration as unlawful, illegal, and hasty.

Aderemi of High Court 2, Ibadan, Oyo State., on May 6, 2019. ALGON Chairman, Prince Ayodeji Abbas-Aleshinloye, in an announcement acquired by DAILY POST on Thursday in Ibadan, the state capital, demanded that choice was unreasonably rushed for another legislature that is yet to discover its feet.

Abbas-Aleshiloye stated, “It has gone to the notice of ALGON Oyo State branch that the new legislative leader of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde has purportedly broken down all fairly chosen neighborhood government in the state.

“This no doubt is unlawful incautious, surprising and unreasonably rushed for another administration that is yet to discover its feet. “This wrongdoing was accounted for in the news media. “ALGON Oyo rejects this illegal demonstration of Mr. Representative. It is illicit and hatred of a subsisting court directive against any disintegration of the boards as requested by Justice A. A. Aderemi of High Court 2, Ibadan, Oyo State., on May 6, 2019.”
