Again, bandits attack Katsina State

No less than three people were abducted on Tuesday in a new attack by bandits in the village of Dan-Ali in the local government area of Danmusa in the state of Katsina.

The attackers also robbed the residents of their money and valuables. A resident of the community, Malam Tukur Dan Ali, while confirming the incident, said his relative was part of the hostages, reports ChannelsTV. According to Dan Ali, the bandits in their dozens arrived in the town around 1:25 am on Tuesday and kidnapped three young men, one of whom is a woman.

He added that the attackers fired into the air to scare residents. “The bandits made several shots sporadically and went to the houses of Alhaji Musa and Alhaji Gambo, where they kidnapped the three people,” he explained.

He said that the bandits had freed one of the victims, Hajiya Fatima unconditionally. He regretted that the security agents had not yet arrived at the village at 5:30 am. Meanwhile, efforts to contact state police spokesman Gambo Isah, a Superintendent of Police (SP), failed because calls made to his phone were not returned.
