21-Year-Old Man Arrested For Mass Shooting In El Paso In Anti-Hispanic Campaign

Twenty people died, and 26 were injured in a mass shooting in the city of El Paso, Texas. Governor Greg Abbott described it as “one of the deadliest days in the history of Texas.”

The massacre occurred at a Walmart store near the Cielo Vista shopping center, a few kilometers from the border between Mexico and the United States.

A 21-year-old man is in custody. Police said the suspect was a resident of the city of Allen in the Dallas area, about 650 miles (1,046 km) east of El Paso. The US media have named him as Patrick Crusius.

The CCTV images that are said to be of the armed man and transmitted by the US media show a man in a dark T-shirt with ear protectors and brandishing an assault rifle.

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, described the attack as “an act of cowardice.”

“I know that I am with everyone in this country to condemn today’s act of hate. There are no reasons or excuses that justify killing innocent people, ”he wrote on Twitter.

The victims of the attack have not yet been named. However, Mexican President Manuel López Obrador said three Mexicans were among those killed, reports the Reuters news agency.
